The boy had always been a heavy sleeper, so he didn't notice it when his roommate woke up and left the room. It was only half an hour later, after someone else had entered the room and tried to wake him, that Christian woke up, as usual, with a pretty bad mood. Mornings weren't really his thing and he also couldn't stand it when he got woken up by someone as just happened. Therefor, he wasn't happy with the person in the room that was still nagging about that he had to get up and everything.

"Just shut up and get out," he mumbled irritated and pulled the blankets over his head to lock the person out. Sadly enough, the boy didn't give up. "I have to take you to Tyran," the boy said, which made Chris look to Tyran's bed, where the man had been last night, but where he wasn't anymore. "For your training," the boy added, seeing the confusion at Chris' face. "And you should hurry, because you're already late."

"Great," Chris said with the needed sarcasm, but he did do as asked. As far as he knew, Tyran wasn't the guy to be kept waiting and he didn't want trouble at his first day. Though you couldn't say that he was actually hurrying. He was getting ready, but seemed to take his time for it, to the annoyance of the boy that was just doing his job. He should remember to make sure Tyran knew that it wasn't the boy's fault that he was running late, so the kid wouldn't get into trouble. Not that he was sure they would make that big of a deal out of it, but just in case.

The first thing Chris saw when he entered the room was Tyran, in his demon form. It made him hesitate a bit, because he didn't feel that comfortable around the man when he looked like this. There was something threatening about it, even though he knew that the man behind the demon wasn't that bad at all. A soft cough was meant to catch the man's attention, as he didn't really know what to say or do.

Even though the training room was full of people and Tyran was high up doing parkour, he still heard the soft cough coming from a slightly recognizable voice. Tyran stopped, looked down and smiled when he saw Christian. He made his way down and as he walked towards Chris, he transformed back to normal, just for Chris to feel more comfortable. He nodded towards the messenger boy, as a sign to thank him, and with a nod given back, he simply walked away, probably getting a new message to bring.
''Alright, I need you to show me the magic you can preform. If I know what you're capable of, I can give you your studies and train you, according to your limits. We have a full library, but you can only excess it when I'm with you and I give you the permission to excess that part of the library. If you work hard and listen to me, you will get higher up soon enough. It won't be easy, it never will be, but it is worth it, trust me on that one.'' Tyran began and looked around, trying to find a target for the first spell to be cast. He found a box in the near distance, and looked back at Chris with a smile. ''Try a levitation spell on that box over there, from this distance. Try to do it as quiet as possible, as non pronounced spells will help you more in combat than if you shout them, because if you shout, then your enemy will know what to do against that spell and will easily destroy you. But, be careful. Some spells require more energy when you don't say them out loud and may kill you if you aren't leveled enough. If you get tired, just say so and I'll give you more simpler tasks. I don't want you to end up in the hospital section on your first day.'' Tyran smiled at Chris and looked at the box. It was a simple task, but it would be hard if you're dealing with a low level mage.

He was relieved when he saw how the man changed back into his normal form. Maybe that demon form was just a thing he had to get used to, but he gave his preference to the human form. At least that was a form he was familiair with and he couldn't say that about anything that had to do with demons, luckily.

"Okay, the magic that I can perform," he repeated for himself with a slight bit of hesitation, as it wouldn't be much at all according to the man standing next to him or actually, probably according to everyone out here. He just never had anyone to teach him anything, so next to the things he picked up from others or the things he had learned himself, he knew pretty much nothing and all those things he did know… well, pretty much nothing as well.

"You want me to do a levitation spell… without words?" he asked with a lost expression on his face. Was that even possible? Okay, ofcourse it was possible. What wasn't possible anymore in this world? Even he should be able to do something like that, theoretically. "Eh, I wouldn't even know how to do that wíth words." It felt like he dissapointed the man and he even felt ashamed of his inability of doing the spell. "Sorry," he added, while he was still looking a bit lost at the older man. "I don't know that much magic. Never really learned it," he tried to explain, not knowing how to strike an attitude. He couldn't feel more like 'The New Kid' than he did now. How was he gonna keep up, if he wasn't even able of the very first thing they asked him to do. Great start, really.

Tyran smiled and placed his hand on Chris his shoulder. ''It's alright buddy, now I know where to start. Everybody needs to begin somewhere. Come on, let's go to the library. You need to get some homework done for today. It may seem boring, but it will get better when you actually do your homework and succeed.'' Tyran said with a grin. Homework here wasn't the same as the homework you would get in high school. Even though you had biology, history and math, you also had the practical side of it and that was the real fun part.
When they arrived at the library, Tyran immediately walked towards the bookshelves with the more ''normal'' books on it. ''Alright, you need to know basic stuff about Biology, Math and History. History though, is not like the stuff normal schools teach you. It focuses on magical history and what it had to do with the history we all think that happened. With biology, you need to know about lifeforms, how they look, what they're made of and most important, the bacteria that live inside them. For math it is pretty simple. You need to know about how to add certain things to another, but within an equal mass. It also kinda looks like science, but we do a lot with numbers, so it's for the best you keep up with that too.'' While placing certain books on the table behind him, Tyran explained all kind of things about the homework. ''Next to that, you need to know how to summon your power, the beginning spells, equipment circles all mages use, keeping your power under control, the rules that the magic uses and other basic stuff about the different types of magic, such as science mages, who are particularly good at preforming science spells.'' It was a lot to learn for Chris, but Tyran was there to help him if he needed him to, and, above that, if he wanted to keep up, he really needed some real life practice. ''Don't worry about the amount, you got enough time to work this out, and besides, I can help you if you want me to.'' Tyran said with a shyly smile. He wasn't used to making friends, or at least trying too.

Homework? He was getting homework? He thought that when the man said training, he meant the physical kind of training and next to that maybe some spells, but Biology or Math? It didn't make that much sense, but on the other hand: who was he to judge about that? It was not that he was an expert in the field of magic. The more reasons for him to just follow Tyran and do as he said.

The boy waited patiently till the man finished his explanation about the homework and about the books he placed at the table. It was quite an achievement to keep up with all the things he said, but he managed to do so and nodded a few times to show he understood. Though, he wasn't really looking at the guy as his look got drawn by the books, some looking boringly normal and others had something different than the most books Christian had seen. It were those slightly different books that got him curious and made him want to take a peek inside, even though it were study books and studying usually wasn't something he enjoyed that much.

"Could have known that I had to start at the bottom. Just didn't expect the bottom was down this far," he mumbled to no one in particular. After that his attention went back to Tyran again and slightly raised eyebrow he continued, this making himself understandable by speaking clearer and a tiny bit louder: "So I have to learn all those things and that will help me to learn spells?" It just didn't sound that logical to him, so he couldn't help but doubt if those things were really necessary. If Tyran really wanted him to do those things, he would and Chris probably just didn't know any better, but he was just not capable of making any sense out of learning those things. "I mean, it sounds like a lot and isn't it easier to start with the spells?"

''It will help you understand your spells and put more power into it. If you just blurt out a spell, it won't work as good as you want it to be. It can even backfire at you. This kind of biology will help you understand species, about their food, behavior, where they live, etc. That stuff is important when you doing transformation spells. You need to change the behavior, what they want to eat, how they look, all kind of things. It isn't just normal to go around and transform things, most of them will die by themselves or will be killed because they are too different. Math is there for you to equalize things and add them with an equal mass. Also, when you are skilled with math-spells, you really need to find that out. If you don't know this stuff and go and learn spells, you won't end up high and will probably be killed in battle.'' Tyran explained and sat down at the table. He gestured at the chair in front of him, at the other side of the table, to make Chris know that he needed to sat down. When he sat down, Tyran began speaking again. ''You also need to know about Equipment Spells. They're difficult to learn, but if you try, you could do it. There is still something different about you, something good. I think you will manage it.'' Tyran said while looking thoughtfully at Chris. ''Alright, first of all, with an Equipment Spell, you can Equip certain things. That's the easy part about it. One single person can Equip from 3 different Equipment Containers. You have Weapons, Guns, Elements such as fire and electricity, Animals, Armor or Tools such as a hammer. You have more, but those are the beginnings of all. Every Container holds twelve items each, you get to choose which one you want in your Container. After that, you get your own unique Lock and Unlock Spell for it. For that, you need to draw one out. I can help you with making up one, but the drawing needs to be completely yours, otherwise I can Equip from your Container and that isn't something we want. We call that an Equipment Circle. You can draw those in mid air, on the ground, literally everywhere, but not on a living being.'' Tyran smiled with those words and handed him his own Equipment Spells book he had gotten from his teacher. ''I give this to you, this was my own book, given by my teacher who passed away some years ago. It's yours to keep. Only you have this book and there is no copy of it, so don't go reading it in a public place, or someone will steal it. Sometimes I need to borrow it, but in the mean time, it's all yours!'' Tyran said and smiled at Chris. 'Was making friends really this hard?' he thought.

He was really trying to follow every word the man said, but it was no use. He forgot most of the things within seconds, as it was just too much at a time. "Okay, slow down. It's al going a bit too fast for me. Can't we focus on one thing at a time, instead of overloading me with information? I mean, it's just so much and I think you're overestimating me a little bit, because I would love to, but I don't think I can do all those things at the same time."

He turned his look to Tyran, only to notice he held out a spells book and was waiting for Chris to take it. It got him by surprise, as he had known the guy for only a day now and the book just didn't seem like one you would just give a way. At least, Chris wouldn't. Nevertheless, he did accept the book and took it with both his hands, feeling how fragile it had became in all those years it had excisted.

"Thanks, I'll be careful with it," he said, turning the look at his face to a smile. "But are you absolutely sure about this? I mean, if there is just one of it, isn't it very valuable then?" And gone was the smile again. It made place for his serious look again, even though he was still very happy with the gift. Though, he had already decided that if the man ever would want it back, he would give it back, because it wasn't something he could fully accept. It would still feel like it belonged to the man, instead of to him, but that didn't matter. It wouldn't make the book less valuable to him and it wouldn't make him appreciate the gesture any less.
