Soooo... Feeling lucky?
How much you'll end up writing for this crawl will depend a *lot* on a random number generator. Depending on how quickly you write and how (un)lucky you are, this may take a while! (If you're looking for a random number generator, here it is: https://www.random.org/)
(Note: I was an idiot and forgot to save the bonus steps because they were not in the original post. I think there might have been a 3rd bonus step, but if there was I can't remember it. If any of you guys know, please tell me so I can add it!)
To start you off, generate a number between 1 and 20. That is the number of minutes you'll have to sprint. How many times? We'll see.
If your number was between 1 and 5, generate a number between 1 and 50.
If it's between 5 and 15, generate a number between 1 and 25.
If it's between 15 and 20, I'll be nice. Ish. Generate a number between 1 and 10.
Next up, go to the word wars, prompts and sprints forum. Generate a number between 1 and, depending on your settings, the highest page number. (so an example: if the forum has 7 pages, set it between 1 and 7). Go to that page, then generate a number between 1 and the number of threads you have listed. Do the challenge you land on. (If you land on a crawl, you get to re-roll if you wish!)
Then, generate a number between 1 and 50. Do that many 100 word sprints.
Next, generate a number between 1 and 30. That is your number of 1 minute sprints. Then, generate a number between 1 and whatever wpm you're comfortable with (NOT your top speed unless you want to have a really hard time!). The number you land on is your goal for the sprints. If you fail to get to it, keep trying! Keep going until you have your number of sprints at or over your goal.
Next, generate a number between 5 and 60. Attempt to write 1000 words in that number of minutes. If you fail, retry three times before moving on.
Generate a number between 1 and 5. Write that many thousand words.
Generate a number between 1 and 1000 and attempt to write that much in under 20 minutes. If you fail, finish at your own pace.
As a last step, Generate a number between 1 and 10,000. Write that many words in however long it takes you!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BONUS ROUND! (Do any or all of these as you wish!)
Write 100 words. Then, roll a 6-sided die (or generate a number between 1 and 6). If it's a 6, move on to the next step. If it's not a 6, write 200 words. Then roll again. continue using the same rules (keep adding 100 words on top of the goal) until you either roll a 6, or have to write 3000 words because the random number generator or die is just that rude to you. (it made me go up to 1400 once >_>
Generate a number between 1 and 100. Do that many song sprints.
